Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings → scroll to the bottom → "Delete account". You'll be asked to type your username to confirm. Your reviews, journal, lists, uploads, and profile are removed within 30 days. If you've forgotten the password, email us and we'll handle it.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, click "Forgot password" and enter the email you signed up with. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes (check spam if it doesn't show up).

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

Settings → Premium → "Manage subscription" opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel any time. Your premium features remain active until the end of the current billing period.

I imported my Letterboxd export and films are showing up in both Logged and Watchlist.

That's been fixed. On your next sign-in, the system automatically removes any watchlist entries that are also in your logged films. If you still see duplicates after refreshing, email us with your username and we'll clear them.

My reviews / journal / lists aren't syncing across devices.

Try signing out and back in — this triggers a fresh sync from our servers. If data is still missing, email support@thefilmreality.com with the device and browser you're using.

Why does my film/show not show a poster?

Posters come from TMDB. If a title is brand new or matched against an older alias, the lookup might miss. You can edit the entry and try a different title spelling, or report it and we'll look into matching.

How do I report inappropriate content or a user?

On the offending review, comment, or profile, use the "..." menu and choose Report. Or email reports@thefilmreality.com directly. We review reports within 24 hours.

What data do you collect about me?

See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown. Short version: email, profile info, what you log/rate/review, and basic technical telemetry (IP, browser) for keeping the service running.

Is there a mobile app?

The web app works great on mobile — tap Share in Safari → "Add to Home Screen" and you'll get an icon that launches like a native app. A real App Store release is in the works.

Status

If something feels broken across the whole app, it's probably us — we'll usually post a note on @thefilmreality when there's an outage. Otherwise: email and we'll get on it.
